Lumber Store & Land Rezoning

Slegg Lumber, wanting to expand into the rapidly-growing Comox Valley, purchased prooperty in Cumberland for an 11,148 m² (120,000 sq. ft.) store and yard. Slegg asked Landworks to represent the company in obtaining approvals through the Village’s performance-based planning approach for rezoning and development permits to allow the proposal to proceed.

Landworks suceeded in obtaining a zoning amendment to permit a modern building centre and related commercial uses and assisted in securing a development permit.

In response to community input, Slegg included an outside seating area for customers. Slegg also made a significant contribution to provide for amenity improvements in the Village Core as part of the approval process for the development.
